“When I create, I find peace and calm, yet also power and energy. Time slips away; I follow the flow and allow myself to be in the moment.
Nature has long been a source of inspiration for me, and there I find so much of those same feelings—the stillness and the power. There, I give myself space to pause, look, listen, notice, and experience my own NOW in each moment.
We do not all see the same things. We feel and experience in our own ways—and we each have our own distinct NOW.
The works in this exhibition represent my various NOWs—moments, experiences, and emotions that have transformed into distinct pieces. While creating the exhibition, I allowed the process to guide me.” …moving forward, exploring new paths, and seeing where they led me.
With NÚNA [NOW], I invite you to see and experience my own “nows.”
About the Artist
Regína Gunnarsdóttir has a diverse background in both education and professional life, spanning the academic sphere and the visual arts. While art and creativity have always been a part of her life, in recent years she has devoted increasingly more space to her own artistic practice.
Regína has held solo exhibitions and participated in various group exhibitions. She maintains a studio at Þúfa 46—an artist community in Akureyri—where she works on her art.
