You are invited to the opening of Salon des Refus\u00e9s<\/em> in Deiglan, Kaupvangsstr\u00e6ti 23, Akureyri, on Saturday June 10th at hr. 14 -17.<\/p>\n

Salon des Refus\u00e9s opens parallel to Sumar \/ Summer in Akureyri Art Museum where works chosen by a committee will be exhibited.<\/p>\n

Salon des Refus\u00e9s refers to the original Salon des Refus\u00e9s in Paris in 1863 where artists came together to show their work rejected by a jury for the Paris Salon. At Salon des Refus\u00e9s in Deiglan, pieces by artists that for some reason decided to not apply for Sumar \/ Summer will be exhibited. Gilf\u00e9lagi\u00f0 hopes that these two exhibitions will show a cross-section on what the artists in North Iceland are working on.<\/p>\n
