Eftir a\u00f0 hafa eytt heimskautan\u00f3ttinni \u00fear nor\u00f0ur fr\u00e1 h\u00e9lt h\u00fan \u00e1fram \u00e1 sk\u00ed\u00f0um til Troms\u00f8 vori\u00f0 2024 og f\u00f3r me\u00f0 seglb\u00e1t til Longyearbyen \u00e1 Svalbar\u00f0a. \u00cd lok sumars sigldi h\u00fan um Austur-Gr\u00e6nland til \u00cdsafjar\u00f0ar, gekk til Akureyrar og eyddi s\u00ed\u00f0ustu m\u00e1nu\u00f0um \u00e1 sveitab\u00e6 \u00ed Eyjafja\u00f0ardal auk \u00feess \u00fevera\u00f0i h\u00fan \u00cdsland til su\u00f0urs \u00e1 sk\u00ed\u00f0um og stunda\u00f0i g\u00f6ngu og sk\u00ed\u00f0afer\u00f0ir \u00e1 sv\u00e6\u00f0inu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Katharina Kneip (* 1990, Germany) is an interdisciplinary artist currently on her long term project Round:Motion<\/em>. She studied Fine Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts M\u00fcnster, Germany and Vienna, Austria. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In her performative and process oriented work she deals with our relation as humans to ourselves and our body, time and the world surrounding us, while combining it often with interactive, site specific installations, sound pieces or drawings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of her actual project Round:Motion<\/em> she walks, skis and sails around the globe on a northern route. Round:Motion<\/em> started in January 2023 in Germany from where she walked to Kirkenes in North East Norway. After spending the polar night in the region she continued with ski to Troms\u00f8 in spring 2024 and joined a sailboat to Longyearbyen, Svalbard. In the end of the summer she sailed via East Greenland to \u00cdsafj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, walked to Akureyri and spent the last months on a farm in Eyjafja\u00f0ardalur as well as crossing Iceland from there to the south with ski and hiking in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the next years she will continue to walk, think and work together with others to widen the perspective on the regions she is passing through, movement and the different aspects of heroism in the outdoors and between human kind and nature. She documents for herself mostly in short texts, sketches or videos and photos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next part of her tour will lead her via West Greenland to Canada by sailboat to continue through Canada by foot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
