Please join us for the opening of Relics \/ Minjar on Saturday, December 28th hr. 14 \u2013 17. Light refreshments and the artist will be present. Artist in residence, Cecilia Seaward will exhibit the products of her stay in Gil Artist Residency. The exhibition will also be open Sunday December 29th hr. 14 \u2013 17 and Cecilia will present an artist talk on Sunday at 15:00.<\/p>\n

Cecilia Seaward is an interdisciplinary artist, choreographer, film producer, and independent scholar based in New York. At the Gil Residency, Cecilia has been working on\u00a0Relics:\u00a0<\/em>a collection of personal vignettes, re-embodied and reimagined through site-specific explorations.\u00a0Relics<\/em>\u00a0is an investigation into the physical embodiment of memory and how this relates to media culture, performance, as well as identity. Cecilia will be showing video and performance segments of\u00a0Relics\u00a0<\/em>at Deiglan from December 28th<\/sup>-29th<\/sup>. She will also be holding a talk about her process on December 29th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

Cecilia has performed in and produced stage and screen productions in Boston, New York, Bologna, and Los Angeles and has shown choreographic and film creations at venues spanning from New York City to Boston to Budapest to Athens. She trained in ballet and modern dance for most of her early life, holds a B.A. in Philosophy from UMass Boston, as well as an M.A. in Global Film and Television from the University of Hertfordshire, U.K. She taught movement and dance for over ten years and works as an advocate for the environment. This past year she founded Tunic Productions, dedicated to bringing stories to life that otherwise may not be told.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
