H\u00fan vann The Selkie \u00ed gestavinnustofu Gilf\u00e9lagsins og h\u00fan ver\u00f0ur frums\u00fdnd n\u00fana um helgina.<\/p>\n Deiglan, Akureyri.<\/b><\/p>\n 26-27 Oct. exhibition hr. 14 – 17:<\/b><\/p>\n Title:\u00a0 CANDICE ALMALIZA SELKIE\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0“<\/span>Only the cold air can wake me<\/span><\/i>“<\/span><\/p>\n During two days of exhibition at Deiglan, Monade Li presents three experimental art videos, two of them are in homage to Ingmar Bergman’s film “Persona”: <\/span>Candice<\/span><\/i> (10min) and <\/span>Almaliza<\/span><\/i> (5min) filmed in Iceland and France during 2014 and 2015. Monade Li questions the duplication of the human being and brings to light three women’s metamorphosis. The third art video is titled <\/span>The Selkie<\/span><\/i> (8min), her very last film project currently edited at Gil Artist Residency, will be screened for the first time; based on a seal-woman legend, Monade Li works on a female character’s will to reach the sea and never be a woman again… Will it be the end of the metamorphosis?<\/span><\/p>\n Architect, filmmaker, Monade Li lives and works in Paris, France. Her first shortfilm, an underwater shooting by day, \u201cDiatom\u00e9e\u201d turned into a \u2018corps-m\u00e9trage\u2019 concept (\u00abbody-measurement\u00bb). Then came out \u201cClaire Obscure\u201d, an underwater shooting by night and \u201cMaloj\u00e1\u201d, shot by the sea shore .In homage to Bergman film \u00abPersona\u00bb, her fourth film \u201cCandice\u201d, shot in Iceland, was presented at Festival \u00abAir d\u2019Islande\u00bb in February 2015 in Paris. Then her first film collaboration with Hipstoresk, a French photographer; \u201cAlmaliza\u201d was in the international short films competition at FNC of Montreal in 2015 and exhibited in Berlin in 2016. During her stay in 2016 at ArtsIceland residency in \u00cdsafj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, she worked on an experimental shortfilm titled \u00abHollie\u00bb, in homage to the Icelandic painter Georg Gu\u00f0ni and based on \u00abPo\u00e8me de la rue\u00bb by the Icelandic author Sigur\u00f0ur P\u00e1lsson.
