Please join us for Gil artist in residence exhibition opening, “Akureyri through the eyes of Salman Ezzamoury<\/em>” on Saturday, August 25th hr. 14. Salman Ezzammoury is Gil artist in residence for the month of August and will show new works created in the past few weeks. Light refreshments and the artist will be present.<\/p>\n

Salman\u00a0Ezzammoury, born in Tetouan, North Morocco, 1959, moved to the Netherlands at a young age. His studies in Photography at the College of Applied Photography in Apeldoorn and Graphic Techniques at Sivako in Utrecht provided a solid technical basis for his current work. He combines painting and photography which gives his work a semi-abstract quality.<\/p>\n

Expressing his emotions is important to\u00a0Salman\u00a0Ezzammoury. Above all he wants to make clear his feelings when\u00a0 experiencing a moment, a situation or a place and as a result his photography has a poetic quality and as with poetry can never be completely grasped, but remains elusive, with a mystic quality.<\/p>\n
