Artist in residence for the month of August is Salman Ezzamoury.<\/p>\n
Salman Ezzammoury, born in Tetouan, North Morocco, 1959, moved to the Netherlands at a young age.
\nHis studies of Photography at the College of Applied Photography in Apeldoorn and Graphic Techniques at Sivako in Utrecht provided a solid technical basis for his current work. He combines painting and photography.<\/p>\n
Expressing his emotions is important to Salman Ezzammoury. Above all he wants to make clear his feelings experiencing a moment, a situation or a place.
\nNo wonder his photography has a poetic quality and as with poetry can never be completely grasped, but remains elusive, with a mystic quality.<\/p>\n
“My project during my stay in august Akureyri
\nMy mind never stands still… I currently have many ideas…
\nbut one of the ideas that I want to work on is a project \u201cAkureyri through the eyes of a Stranger\u201d, through the eyes of an artist friend with a different cultural background. We living in a vibrant multicultural world.
\nI like to inspire my thoughts and feelings by the culture, the environment, the buildings, the moving clouds above the city, the smiles and expressions on people faces, the smell of the air, the taste of water… Akureyri and the roughness of the environment. Search for the beauty.
\nIt is always a constant challenge for every artist who embraces earth and people.
\nI want to participate and keep in touch with local fellow artists.<\/p>\n
