The Last Piece of Arctic<\/h3>\n

Polar Law Students from the University of Akureyri have come up with the idea to express their understanding of the current situation in the Arctic and to present their performance at Deiglan gallery at 16.00, 22nd of April, on Earth Day.<\/p>\n

We are the Arctic. We are all Arctic people: Arctic is essential for our survival as humankind. The Arctic holds an important message for all of us. Art is the best channel to deliver the message of the Arctic. We want to make a difference, using art, and we invite you to join us in it, the Polar Law students say.<\/p>\n

The performance called \u2018the Last Piece of Arctic\u2019 emphasises the problems arising from global warming and climate change, inflicting damage on this fragile region faster than in the rest of the world. What happens in the Arctic doesn\u2019t stay in the Arctic; All of us, no matter if we live in the Arctic region or not, depend on it. We are all connected to what is left of the Arctic, down to the last piece of Arctic.<\/p>\n
