Deiglan is a multi-purpose exhibition space, ideal for art and music.\u00a0The facilities used to belong to the old dairy factories as well as most of the buildings in the Art Street. \u00a0When the dairy factories were moved artists and interested people founded the Gil\u00a0Society with the aim of building up the Art Street as you find it today. This adventure started 25 years ago and is still going strong.<\/p>\n
Deiglan is distinguished by the wooden stair platforms that take up a part of the space. This makes it ideal for all sort of live performances and also an interesting challenge for installations, videos, etc. Exhibitions are continuous throughout the year, with the highlight being Akureyri Art Summer that is celebrated all through the town.<\/p>\n
We also run an artist residency, a studio and apartment in the same building where international artists get a chance to work and exhibit in Deiglan.<\/p>\n
If you are interested in renting Deiglan, please send inquiries to gilfelag@listagil.is – you can see available dates on the calendar under Events and Opening Hours.<\/a><\/p>\n Prices are for cultural happenings without an entrance fee. Please contact gilfelag@listagil.is<\/em> for other activities and longer term rentals.<\/p>\n Included is only the space, one takes care of opening, advertisement and clean up. Please leave the space as you got it.<\/p>\n *You can have the space open on weekdays between but the space could be used for other happenings fx. meetings, etc.<\/p>\n\n
